April 22 - Dingle Peninsula

We are on a small group tour today to Dingle Peninsula.  The pick-up process was fraught with late comers but we eventually headed out (45 minutes after we had been picked up).  The countryside is beautiful.

We eventually hit the coastline, which is also pretty magnificent.

We had a stop at Inch Strand…which is actually a two kilometer strand of sandy beach.  There were a lot of people enjoying the lovely day and a few people trying their hand at surfing.

We saw the Sleeping Giant…a natural formation in the far distance that looked like a giant laying on his back.  The profile was pretty good.

We eventually ended up in the town of Dingle (on the Dingle Peninsula).  It is very colorful with many brightly painted buildings.  After lunch we walked around a bit and eventually succumbed to the call of ice cream.  There were several ice cream shops and everyone was enjoying a cup or cone.  It was very good.

The drive back was short on commentary and we made it back late afternoon.  We had a light dinner and spent the evening in the hotel.
