May 7 – Donegal

We are staying fairly close to home today.  We read a bit and worked on photos in the morning and then headed out mid-morning for a walk down to Donegal city center.  It is a fairly small town and not a lot to see.

We did a self-guided tour of the Donegal castle, with it's 15th century keep and 17th century Jacobean manor house and border walls. Much of the keep was restored in the 1990's.

We snuck in just ahead of a large school group.

And walked over to the waterfront.  The bay is a tidal bay so boat movement is very much restricted to high tides.
